Sporting Kansas City, stuck at the bottom of the table once again, travel to the vaunted halls of Sandy, Utah, for the teams' first meeting in 2026.

Real Salt Lake's injury crises are easing, with Diego Luna fully off the injury report and having had a rest after he wasn't called up for the U.S. national team. Among other international players, Juanma Sanabria played just a handful of minutes for Uruguay, with just three minutes in each of his nation's two matches.

Absences

The following players are out

  • Aiden Hezarkhani — groin strain — an unfortunate injury, to be sure.
  • Tyler Wolff — shoulder

The following are questionable

  • Juan Jose Arias — groin — maybe he will play before the end of his loan
  • Zach Booth — knee — not likely to play regardless
  • Kobi Henry — adductor — ugh
  • DeAndre Yedlin — hamstring — I think there's a chance he plays in this one, but we'll see if Mastroeni decides to wait to give him minutes

Diego Luna has fully exited the injury report this week.

The following players are out with medium-to-long-term injuries:

  • Emeka Eneli — knee — Mastroeni estimated after the World Cup break
  • Ari Piol — achilles — tear suffered vs. Seattle, will likely not be back in 2026
