League investigations into Real Salt Lake owner Dell Loy Hansen are nearly complete, MLS commissioner Don Garber said in his State of the League address today.

Excerpts from social media follow.

The league is set to announce the results of the investigation following MLS Cup, which takes place on Saturday. It’s unlikely they’ll want to diminish the post-MLS-Cup euphoria immediately, so I’m planning on Monday, but be on the lookout for news before then, too.

Oh, and if you’re wondering if there’s still a chance that MLS could move our team, there’s at least a little clarity there.

Where do we go from here? At this point, we’re in a bit of a holding pattern, but the impending arrival of news has to feel a little encouraging. Especially with Utah Royals FC having been moved to Kansas City, things may feel uncertain. But it is worth remembering that NWSL has granted the future buyers of Utah Soccer expansion rights in 2023, should they be interested, so there is a glimmer of hope there.
