Admittedly, this was a difficult choice. Savarino and Plata also had standout performances, each contributing a goal and playing with purpose.
However, Luis Silva stood out just a little bit more than the rest. Both of Real Salt Lake’s goals went through Silva. The first happened in the 50th minute when Silva was in a great position in the box and was able to draw a penalty while trying to combine and open up space. The second happened in the 53rd minute when he found a streaking Savarino on the right side of the field to give the home team a temporary lead.
Silva had some incredible hold up play once again and played selflessly throughout. And he very well could have had a second assist with his flick to Savarino who hit it on a half volley. Unfortunately, the keeper is up for Save of the Week.
Silva is in great form right now. He didn’t slow down against the Crew.
