Real Monarchs vs. Sacramento Republic: How to watch, predicted lineup and more

Matt Montgomery

Real Monarchs face their second-fiercest rivals in USL today as they take on Sacramento Republic in the first-ever Real double-header at Rio Tinto Stadium.

Monarchs, who open the double-header at 5 p.m. today, might be the lesser of the two sides, and their record — one win in the league — reflects that. And they'll probably be sapped of a few of the RSL players who often play with them because of the first team's match that starts only an hour after this one ends.

As a result, don't expect to see Lalo Fernandez, Phanuel Kavita, Boyd Okwuonu, and Sebastian Saucedo with the Monarchs — all four will either be starting or substitutes for RSL against Portland Timbers.
