Player Ratings: Real Salt Lake 2-1 Sporting Kansas City
A handful of strong performances lifted RSL to victory.

- Cabral (GK) — 8: Cabral didn’t have much to do, but when called upon, he made two really nice back-to-back saves.
- Caliskan (RB) — 7: Wasn’t terribly threatened, didn’t threaten too much in the attack either. Did what was asked.
- Glad (CB) — 7: A tidy match for the veteran.
- Vera (CB) — 5: He put the ball into his own net. Again. Consecutive matches. I don’t know, that’s pretty bad.
- Katranis (LB, off 72’) — 8: Scored a really nice goal in the 62nd minute, giving RSL a 2-0 lead.
- Ojeda (CM) — 6.5: Did fine in the midfield, but he was poor in shot selection, taking four shots, three of which were well outside the box and not particularly threatening. It’s perhaps a bigger problem than Ojeda, as it happened repeatedly among the attacking players.
- Eneli (CM) — 6.5: Not his strongest match, but it didn’t need to be to be against lackluster opposition.
- Luna (LW, off 79’) — 8: He scored a really nice goal in the first half, and he was on the ball frequently, though not often to significant effect.
- Gozo (RW, off 72’) — 8.5: Had an header saved from close distance, but it took a really great save to keep him out. He provided two assists, both of which were really nice. The second assist, in which he fed Katranis with a nice looping back-post cross, was a peach.
- Olatunji (FW) — 6: Struggled to get involved much, and his two shots were extremely low-probability, non-threatening efforts.
- Cruz (FW, off 72’) — 7: Pretty active in coming back and building up play, but he, too, took a handful of low-probability, non-threatening shots. Sigh.
Substitutes
- Agada (FW, on 72’) — 6: Ineffectual, but he didn’t hurt the team.
- Junqua — (LB, on 72’) — 6.5: Barely involved, but at least he is a defender and didn’t make any major mistakes. Wasn’t really tested, though.
- Wolff — (RW, on 72’) — 6: Barely involved.
- Goncalves (LW, on 79’) — N/A: Barely involved, but he didn’t play more than 15 minutes.
